last week i was first time on my home woodland up on the hill. it was wonderful to smell the moss and wander under the birch and spruce trees. the nature is awakening little by little, i do need to remember that snow just melted away... soon birch cherry trees will open the leaves and birches seem to have a lovely little green buds too. i have been searching spring flowers and found "blue anemones", i do not call them as liverleaves since i think this plant deserves a lovelier name. we in Finland call this flower as sinivuokko, which means blue anemone. Few days ago i found blue anemones in the woodland, behind the old school building where i often visit; whether picking acorns ( this is only oak tree where i can get acorns in our village), apples in autumn or few plants from the garden which know one takes care of any longer.
They are beautiful Delila, our anemones are a shyer, paler flower; both plants heralding the spring.

ReplyDeleteI'll bet that once the plants start growing there, they do so with a very fast growth rate. I have been to two different nurseries in the past three days! Its so wonderful to be back in the garden

How does it feel to be hone Delila? It's always the best place really. I've been very busy in my garden and it's looking lovely............but the weather is so hot this week, 90+ degrees for several days. Hopefully the weekend will cool down a bit, this is too early for that high heat.

ReplyDeleteAren't they beautiful - we have them before the bluebells and ours are white with palest pink undersides, not blue...I think the blue look stunning in your images. Is the wooden building a school, it's so lovely?
